SUMMER ACADEMY CAMP
This camp is for rising 5th through 8th grade players that want to develop and train in a group setting with instruction from our current travel team coaches. The focus will be on fundamental skills and the use of proper technique. Beginner to Intermediate skill players are welcome. Athletes will be grouped by grades and divided based on the qualifications listed below. All practices will be held at the PSVC facility in Mt. Pleasant.
Dates:
June 12th - June 15th (Monday - Thursday)
Cost: $225 per player, receive and early bird discount of $50 if registered before April 1st
Time: Choose the session that best suits your schedule. It is not recommended for players to attend both sessions.
AM Session 9am -12pm
PM Session 1pm - 4pm
All sessions are Co-Ed.
UPDATED Cancellation Policy - any cancellation request must be sent via email to [email protected] with the subject line "Summer Camp Cancellation." In the body of the email please list the account/parents name and players name. The date/time stamp of the email will be used to discern the refund amount, if any. Refunds exclude the $3 processing fee originally charged by the 3rd party credit card service.
Before May 9th - 100% refund
May 10th - May 23rd - 50% refund regardless of reason
May 24th or later - no refund regardless of reason
Location: Palmetto Strikers, 1007 Johnnie Dodds Blvd, Mt. Pleasant, SC
Early drop off is available from 8:00am - 8:30am. There is an additional charge of $20 for the week that will be collected on the 1st day of camp.
Players will be grouped based on skill. This is so the trained PSVC coaches can meet the needs of the players and plan each day of camp to get the most growth in volleyball skill. Players may be moved between groups from day to day. Please note this is a training program meant to focus on the basic volleyball skills while increasing the player's skill and court knowledge. Participants will spend the entire camp working on volleyball skills. Requests by parents to move players will not be accepted.
PSVC White Level (Beginner)
These players are new or relatively new to the game of volleyball. Players are still working on the basic fundamentals of the game. These players have played less than two years of organized volleyball (school or club).
PSVC Gray Level (Intermediate)To be placed at this level players MUST have 1 or more seasons of organized volleyball experience and meet 2 of the 5 following requirements:
1. over hand serve the ball over the net from the end line
2. forearm pass with a partner for at least 30 seconds without the ball hitting the floor
3. serve/receive the ball in the court with the pass the height of the antenna
4. hand set 5 balls positioned to the middle or outside hitter positions
5. have a hitting approach and contact the ball
PSVC Blue Level (Advanced)To be placed at this level players MUST have 2 or more seasons of organized volleyball experience (school or club) and meet 3 of the 5 following requirements:
1. over hand serve the ball over the net from the end line
2. forearm pass with a partner for at least 30 seconds without the ball hitting the floor
3. serve/receive the ball in the court with the pass the height of the antenna
4. hand set 5 balls positioned to the middle and outside hitter positions
5. have a hitting approach and contact the ball
PSVC Black Level (Elite Athlete) To be placed at this level players MUST have 3 or more seasons of organized volleyball experience (school or club) and meet 4 of the 5 following requirements:

3. serve/receive the ball in the court with the pass the height of the antenna
